Simple actions to take to do good for our beloved planet

Hello! ❤️

As you know, we use 100% natural materials for our collections and we advocate "Buy Less, Buy Better". In a world of overconsumption, we want to show our community that it is possible to dress without polluting the oceans every time you wash your clothes.
"MEANING AND STYLE"

We are becoming increasingly aware of the environmental emergency, many of us have the will to act, but the expression "it is easier said than done" takes on its full meaning. We know that it can be complicated to change for the better by adopting new actions, by reviewing our routines. We often do not know where to start.
So let us give you some ideas...
What if we all became more eco-friendly together?
Below are some simple steps you can take to take care of our planet:
- Avoid waste and sort our waste to be able to recycle it , we recommend the application " The sorting guide " which will make sorting easier for you on a daily basis.
- Remember to turn off our lights when leaving a room to save energy.
- Go to work on foot or by bike if you can afford it, it's the sport of the day and we don't pollute the atmosphere!
- Cook fresh and preferably organic products , we love @laruchequiditoui who connects consumers and producers in the same geographical area directly to consume good local products. Order your basket here!
- Favor seasonal fruits and vegetables and buy in bulk to do away with packaging, remembering to take pots, a shopping bag, bulk pouches or other containers to do our shopping. Consuming seasonal and local products helps reduce our carbon footprint and fight against the use of chemical fertilizers on our agricultural land. The use of pesticides is particularly bad for our health! The illustration by Julie Mirande below should help you choose your fruits and vegetables :)
- Prefer natural cosmetics , their ingredients are made from plant-based raw materials, without silicone, preservatives or colorants, which is good for your skin and the environment. Also, their packaging is not polluting, we love Les petits prodiges qui offer you magical & multi-purpose balms with natural and delicious scents, 100% natural, 100% Made in France and not tested on animals. Also, we remove our makeup with washable cotton pads , we can't do without those from Les tendances d'Emma .
- You can even create your own natural cosmetics based on aloe vera, vegetable oils, sugar, honey... It is both respectful of your skin and the environment but also the best way to create tailor-made treatments.
- Adopt the menstrual cup and/or washable panties , we love those from Fempo ! The planet will thank you because you will no longer produce waste. It is also and above all much more hygienic and economical ;)
- Switch to eco-responsible packaging by favoring recyclable materials. With us, the packaging of your parcels is composed of more than 90% recycled materials and is fully recyclable.
We found a great DIY on the site " Pousse Pousse " that reinvents your way of consuming by offering you zero waste boxes. Here they teach you how to make your own "bee wrap". It is a fabric covered with beeswax which is a good alternative to cling film. Practical and ecological!
- Turn to natural materials during our shopping by choosing eco-responsible clothing that “respects” the environment during all stages of its production (low-polluting materials that respect our skin) and/or we hunt for second-hand clothing. It’s a nice way to recycle to give a second life to the pieces.
- Do our shopping with a tote bag (anElise Chalmin tote bag preferably mouhaha) so as not to end up with 400 plastic bags at home which are a considerable source of pollution.
- Close the taps because water is a precious resource that we must cherish and buy a nice water bottle and a nice reusable straw to avoid producing even more waste.
- Reduce our shower time (we know, it’s very hard but if we all make a little effort, it will already be very good)
- Avoid unnecessary laundry washing and wash at low temperatures ! The brand Les petits bidons offers ecological detergents, with 100% natural ingredients. Also, our national Laetitia makes her own detergent . It's ecological but she's telling me that it's also much more economical.
Here are the ingredients you will need to do like her :
  • 20g grated Marseille soap
  • 1 level tablespoon of soda crystals
  • 1 liter of water
  • 20g of black soap
  • She loves to add a few drops of lavender essential oil to perfume her laundry.

The list is long, but we think that these small gestures are the easiest to put in place. Shall we all try to make an effort together?
Please let us know if this article helped you and if you managed to implement some of these everyday eco-responsible actions.
Take care of yourself,
The Chalmin Club
