Wool care
Tip #1:
The first and simplest recommendation is to let your wool breathe outside for a few hours after wearing it. Wool is a naturally antibacterial material, which has the ability to neutralize odors and bacteria.
Tip #2:
When using a washing machine, make sure to turn your garment inside out to avoid any damage and place your item in a laundry bag. Choose a wool wash cycle and use a special wool detergent such as Kerzon Maille Câline detergent.
For hand washing, use cold water and a mild detergent suitable for delicate fabrics. Gently rub the garment and rinse thoroughly in clean water until all the detergent is removed.
Tip #3:
Once you're done washing, simply let your garment air dry, laying it flat. Ideally, place your garment on a towel.
It is not necessary to iron wool knitwear, but if you really want to, a steamer is a good option.
Tip #4:
If your wool sweater is pilling, don't worry, it's an indicator of quality. Spinners use more wool than necessary to ensure good quality over time. Your sweater will naturally pill, that is, get rid of its excess wool during the first few wears.
To remove lint, wash your sweater regularly at the start, and use a manual lint razor (gentler than electric razors).
