Every year it's the same story, we don't even have time to get used to autumn before the Christmas decorations are put up in the bakeries and the toy catalogue arrives in the mailbox.
But for the first time at Club Chalmin we had the opportunity to decorate a Christmas tree . We got down to it as soon as the reopening of the shops was announced and how can I tell you that we loved it!!!
This first experience allowed us to think about what kind of decoration we would have liked for the store during this festive period.
With the lockdown we had to curb our desires but we are bubbling with ideas. This year in the team we wanted a Christmas a little different , festive still but more in line with our values . So we rummaged to find original , festive ideas, accessible to all and as eco-responsible as possible!
So prepare your Mariah Carrey playlist , we're taking you with us on our Christmas madness !
1# The safe bet
Perhaps the "easiest" solution in terms of inspiration, but it's a safe bet, which you won't get tired of. We were very inspired by the settings that we can see in Christmas movies, quite American in the end but very festive and warm. These combinations of red, fir green and gold take us directly into the magic of Christmas.
For a traditional but not classic decoration, bet on natural elements . You can hang natural or domed gold pine cones on your tree, hang barley sugars on the branches , regressive as you wish!
If you have the opportunity to walk in the forest or in a park, consider taking a bag with you. You never know, you might find beautiful branches, colorful leaves to make your own Christmas wreath .
And if you have an artistic soul, do like Audrey from the
@azzed account who made
decorations for her tree in
salt dough !! As good for children as for parents!
2# Scandinavian inspiration
For those who don't want to overload their interior decoration or are looking for something more minimalist , these little ideas should please you. From eucalyptus leaves, citrus fruits, cinnamon sticks and star anise (list not -exhaustive), you will be able to imagine multiple decorations.
There are many DIY (Do It Yourself) ideas, especially on Pinterest, to find out how to make garlands with orange slices , but also how to make amber apples (an orange studded with a hundred cloves) The good thing about these decorations is that they are not too "Christmas" marked, so if you love them, you can even make them for the whole year!
And if you like refined decorations with Scandinavian inspiration, we invite you to follow the initiative of Sandra from @jesussauvage and decorate your windows using a white felt-tip pen like Posca.
3# Colorful Christmas
Well, you guessed it, this is perhaps the version that we love the most...
This explosion of colors brings a breath of modernity and freshness to the sometimes too predictable decoration of Christmas decorations. We love the idea of flowering your Christmas tree ! It must be so satisfying to choose the different flowers and create your color gradients.
A little more accessible in terms of budget and realization, pompoms are a solution for an ultra creative Christmas. Whether in a wreath to hang on the front door or in a garland, you can have fun creating
colorful touches through unique pompoms. We found a fairly easy DIY
here to make flowery pompoms like in the picture.
And what would Christmas be without a touch of Elise Chalmin?
A very sad time, we grant you...
This year, in addition to wearing your
favorite Ava shirt , you can
decorate your tree with
one of the 150 Christmas balls that our elf Loli created
from our fabric scraps . They are
unique and will be
randomly slipped into the next 150 orders. We love the idea of having a little bit of us in each of your trees.
We can't wait to see your beautiful trees decorated with our Christmas baubles!
